Kevin Droney is proud to be a member of Areté Vocal Ensemble since its inception. He is also a longtime member of the Los Robles Master Chorale and takes great pleasure in his long association with the New West Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Kevin has been privileged to perform many of the world’s great choral masterpieces directed by renowned conductors such as Roger Wagner, Vance George, Sir David Wilcocks and Paul Salamunovich, and was part of a memorable concert of Mozart’sMass in Cand Rutter’sRequiem, directed by John Rutter. Kevin recently participated as a chorister in two performances of Verdi’s Requiem at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale, directed by Gustavo Dudamel. A recording of the concert is now available on DVD.
Kevin has sung abroad, performing at venues such as London’s St. Martin in the Fields (Noon Concert Series), Coventry Cathedral (The Church Music Festival directed by Sir David Wilcocks), Prague’s Dvorak Hall (with the Radio Prague Symphony Orchestra), and Leipzig’s Gwanthaus (American Church Music Festival), to name just a few. His favorite moment: participating with a guest choir during the Sunday high mass at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Kevin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Santa Clara University and a Master of Fine Arts from UCLA. He’s taught advanced screen writing courses at California State University, Northridge, and has lectured at USC’s Institute of Creative Technologies. He makes his living as a screen and television writer, is currently working on a fifth novel manuscript, and spends his spare time in the back yard observing wild birds, those most musical of beings. He lives in Ventura County, California with his wife Marianne, also a member of Areté.
