Soprano Penny Brady has lived in the Conejo Valley since 2000. In addition to Arete, she is currently singing with the Santa Barbara Choral Society, and is a church choir section leader in Westwood. She previously sang with Los Robles Master Chorale and their small group, Eko. She holds a B.A. in Voice, a Single Subject Music Credential, a Master’s Degree in Education, and two additional teaching credentials.
Penny spent many years as a session singer in the Bay area, Nashville, Fresno, and San Diego, singing primarily Christian Choral tracks. She taught in the Music Department at Christian Heritage College, and has taught private voice for many years.
Penny has done extensive solo work in large churches, as well as directing small ensembles and children’s choirs, and serving as interim choir director. A highlight was playing Mary in the “Glory of Easter” at Crystal Cathedral.
Penny is a published songwriter, and has worked as a music copyist and proofreader. She hopes to do more arranging and writing in the future, but her greatest joy comes from seeing her three daughters pursue their own dreams.
