Areté Vocal Ensemble welcomes talented and committed high school and college undergraduate students to audition for the ensemble through its apprentice program. Students accepted as apprentices will participate in all rehearsals and performances but will not receive payment.

Singers should possess ample solo and ensemble experience, excellent sight-reading skills, familiarity with common vocal styles, and a desire to sing at the highest level of vocal ensemble performance. Membership in Areté requires a strong commitment to the art, the excellence, and your adult colleagues in the ensemble.

Singers will be asked to audition with:

• A prepared solo vocal work (art song or aria) in any language
• Scales and arpeggios demonstrating range and vocal agility
• Sight reading and tonal memory exercises

• Choral or vocal resume
• Photo or headshot
