Sam Aranda, tenor, is originally from Northridge, CA. He grew up with six older sisters… and his grandfather’s grand piano. He vaguely remembers singing Mozart’s Requiem in 3rd grade. Mostly, he recalls, “Why am I singing here … with all of these grown-ups?”
Sam sang in a few local high-school and college bands – but was soon whisked away to the Bay Area and the confines of Wall Street… otherwise known as the Pacific Stock Exchange Options Floor.
Always seeking the need for inner-parity, Sam auditioned for the San Francisco Choral Society and the Golden Gate Opera. He also sang in a quartet (Vespers) and a Welsh male ensemble (Thirst & Howl). Many a requiem, Orff, and aria later, Sam returned to sunny California.
A 3-time finisher of the Tough Mudder event, Sam also enjoys testing his physical limits along with a few of his grade-school friends. Twelve mountainous miles with intermittent 10,000-volt shocks? He’s ok with that. As long as a cold IPA awaits.
